Davidson College Athletics

The Southern Conference announced its Academic All-Conference team for the 2009 fall season Tuesday, which included honors for 23 Davidson student-athletes from the men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball teams for their academic and athletic success. A record total of 316 student-athletes, representing all 12 Southern Conference institutions, were named to the team.

Senior Lance Harden was named the Davidson men’s cross country team’s 2009 most valuable runner after leading the team through one of its best seasons in program history.

Davidson announced today that Brett Boretti ‘94 (baseball), Dana Casner ‘99 (women’s tennis), Jack Gray, Jr. *49 (men’s cross country and track) and Steve Smith ‘66 (football) will make up the 21st induction class to the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
