Curry Named SoCon Player of the Week
Stephen Curry
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson junior guard Stephen Curry has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for his performance in three games last week. It’s the 10th time the junior has earned the honor, which is voted on by the league’s sports information directors.

Curry averaged 37.7 points and 6.7 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from 3-point range and 93.9 percent from the free-throw line. He has scored 25 or more points in nine straight games, dating back to last season, and 30 or more points in his last four. Curry scored a career-high 44 points at then 12th-ranked Oklahoma Nov. 18, and matched a school record by sinking all 14 of his free-throw attempts. It was the fifth highest scoring total in Davidson history.

The No. 24/25 Wildcats take on Loyola (Md.) in the final round of the Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT?Season Tip-Off Tuesday night at John M. Belk Arena. The game, which is set to start at approximately 8 p.m., will be the nightcap of a doubleheader with Florida Atlantic and James Madison meeting at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are still available.
