UNC Greensboro trimmed the margin to 27-23, but Gassie answered with a dribble drive and a bucket, and Thompson nailed two free throws to make the margin 31-23 at halftime. The Wildcat defense was solid, allowing the Spartans to hit just 6-of-22 from the field. Davidson also got two turnovers on five-second calls during UNCG inbounds plays.
