POOLER, Ga. - The Davidson golf team sits 15th (610) after the first two rounds of play on Monday in the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate at Savannah Quarters Country Club. Sophomore
Jackson Taylor led the Wildcats with a two-round total of 149 (73+76).
The 'Cats posted a first round score of 307 and improved to 303 in the second on the 7,016-yard, par 72, Greg Norman-designed course. Taylor's two-round score places him in a tie for 36th individually. Junior
Bobby Urso saw the biggest improvement with a team-low one-under par 71 in the second round after a first-round 80 (151). Freshman
Walker Allen matched Taylor's 73 in the first, but struggled in the second, posting an 80 (154). Junior
Christopher Rollins (158) and freshman
John Skeadas (161) rounded out Davidson's lineup.
East Carolina holds a strong first-place advantage firing two sub-par rounds for a 12-under 564 (284-280). ECU's David Watkins leads after firing a pair of 68's.
Competition will resume Tuesday morning.
