POOLER, Ga. - The Davidson golf team concluded its 2009 fall season against a strong field on Tuesday at the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate at Savannah Quarters Country Club. The ‘Cats improved to 14th with a final round 298 to finish at 908 on the 7,016-yard, par 72, Greg Norman-designed course.
Junior
Bobby Urso led Davidson with a 224, shooting a one-over par, 73 on the final day to place in a tie for 36th. Urso saw the biggest improvement on Monday with a team-low one-under par, 71 in the second round. Junior
Jackson Taylor finished one-stroke behind at 225, matching his second-round 76 to place in a tie for 44th.
Freshman
Walker Allen bounced back from a difficult second round to match his first-round 73, placing in a tie for 52nd at 227. Classmate

Christopher Rollins (240) rounded-out Davidson’s lineup.
The 'Cats posted a first-round score of 307 and improved to 303 in the second, before the final day’s 298.
East Carolina won the team title (852), led by the top individual, David Watkins (205).
The Davidson golf team will return to action in 2010 with the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, hosted by Francis Marion in Hilton Head, S.C. on Feb 22-23.
