The junior defender has registered nine goals during her Wildcat career.
DAVIDSON, N.C. — Coming off a weekend that saw her score the game-winning goal in the Southern Conference Finals and then earn MVP honors for the tournament, junior Amanda Flink (Richardson, Texas) of the Davidson women’s soccer team added yet another accolade to her playing resume during what has been an impressive junior campaign by being named the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 4-11.

She is the second Wildcat this season to garner the award, which honors student-athletes for their outstanding performance on the field and off it. Junior Sarahbeth Peele of the volleyball team won the award on Oct. 28.

Earlier today, Flink was one of 27 players to earn Primetime Performers of the Week honors give by CollegeSoccer360.com for her stellar performance in the SoCon Tournament, Nov. 6-8. Prior to the start of the league tournament, she was one of four ‘Cats to pick up All-SoCon honors, garnering a spot on the second team.

The junior defender led the Wildcats to their first trip to the NCAA Tournament by netting the game-winning goal in the 108th minute of the second overtime on Sunday against College of Charleston in the finals as Davidson picked up a 1-0 victory. The win gave the ‘Cats their fourth tournament league title in the program’s 21-year history.

Flink was apart of a Davidson defense, which included senior Sophie Funderburk (Wilmington, N.C.), sophomore Sophie Newsom (Atlanta, Ga.) and freshman Louise Timboe (Littleton, Colo.), that played 198 scoreless minutes last weekend and tallied two 1-0 shutout wins.

A mathematics major with a 3.52 GPA, Flink has started 21 of 22 games this season and recorded three goals.
