Kidwell Named PFL Defensive Player of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Pioneer Football League named Davidson defensive back
Peter Kidwell its Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Wildcats’ 34-27 victory at San Diego last Saturday.
Kidwell put the ‘Cats on the scoreboard first when he picked off a pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown. The sophomore also had four tackles, including two solo hits.
Kidwell’s three interceptions are tied for the second most in the PFL, and his 105 return yards off the picks rank first. It’s the most interception return yards for a Wildcat since Jim Carney had 121 in 1999. Kidwell has 42 tackles on the season (26 solo), two tackles for loss and a pass breakup.
He carries a 3.33 grade point average and was recently named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District, advancing to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.
The Wildcats close the season with a contest against PFL opponent Marist on Senior Day at Richardson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
