DAVIDSON, N.C. – After impressive performances at the Nike Invitational over the weekend, junior Lindsey Martin and freshman Drew Onken have been named the CCSA Men’s and Women’s Swimmer of the Week, respectively, for meets competed Nov. 30-Dec. 6, as announced today by the League.

After three individual titles and an NCCA B-cut time in the 100 freestyle, Martin was named Swimmer of the Meet at the Nike Invitational, held at Kenyon College this weekend. Martin's conference-leading time of 50.17 in the 100 free was her third individual title of the weekend, after she won the 50 (23.48) and 200 (1:52.05) freestyles during Friday's competition.

Martin’s weekend also included stellar performances during the relay events. She anchored the 200 freestyle relay to victory with a split of 22.82 seconds and posted an event-best 1:51.87 split in the 800 freestyle relay. She also anchored the 400 freestyle relay to a runner-up position with her split time of 49.92 to conclude the competition. It is the second weekly honor for Martin, who was named CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Oct. 3.

Onken earned five championship swims while posting career bests in six events for Davidson at the Invitational. His weekend was highlighted by a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.82) and 400 IM (4:00.12), which was also a CCSA and school record. The previous League-best mark of 4:02.95 was set by Dmitriy Gorin of College of Charleston in 2008-09, and the Davidson best of 4:02.00 was swam by Kurt Hirsekorn on Feb. 25, 2000.

Onken’s weekend also finished fourth in the 200 IM (1:53.78), seventh in the 200 backstroke (1:52.52), eighth in the 200 butterfly (1:53.52) and ninth in the 100 breaststroke (58.53). In addition to his school record in the 400 IM, Onken swam Davidson all-time Top-10 performances in the 200 butterfly (2nd), 200 breaststroke (3rd), 200 IM (4th), 200 back (5th) and 100 breaststroke (6th).

It is the third weekly honor for Onken, who was also named CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Oct. 3 and the week of Oct. 12.
