Sanker, Women's Cross Country Named Academic All-America

Caroline Sanker was named All-Academic American, and the Davidson Wildcats women's cross country team was designated as an All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The senior psychology major is just one of 77 Division I female student-athletes to receive the honor, representing 52 different academic institutions.
The award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and must finish in the top 15 finishers (or top 10 percent) of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet or attain All-American status at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
The Wildcats sport a team GPA of 3.23 and are one of 161 teams honored in Division I women's cross country competition. The team award is given to teams who have competed at an NCAA Regional Meet and have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
The University of Washington Huskies were named the Scholar Team of the Year, after winning their first NCAA Division I Cross Country team championship, in addition to the Pacific-10 Conference title and the NCAA Division I West Region title. The Huskies carry a 3.28 team GPA.
