DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Senior Kennesia Martin bettered her own school record as the Wildcat women's track and field team competed at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational over the weekend.

Martin finished second in the triple jump with a Davidson-best mark of 11.78 meters (38-07.75). She previously set the record with a jump of 11.70 meters last weekend at the Charlotte 49er Classic.

Classmate Kim Colley finished tied for fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.57 and finished ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.17.

Danielle Wright, school-record holder in the indoor 400 meters, placed seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.74.

Davidson's distance runners also competed at the Duke Invitational.

Emily King finished 25th (18:39.57) in the "B" flight of the 5000 meters to highlight competition for the Wildcats.

Davidson returns to action  at the Joe Hilton UNC Invitational Sat., April 11 in the final tuneup of the season before the 2009 SoCon Outdoor Championships.
