GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The seventh-seeded Wildcats will face the third-seeded Citadel Bulldogs in an elimination game on the second day of the 2009 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament Thursday at 9 a.m. at Fluor Field.

The Bulldogs were upset by sixth-seeded Appalachian State Mountaineers, 4-1, yesterday in the second game.

Davidson nearly completed its own upset, but lost an early lead in the seventh inning before finally dropping a 4-3, 11-inning decision to second-seeded Georgia Southern in the 9 a.m. game yesterday.

Elon held off Furman, 10-8, behind an eighth-inning grand slam to advance in the third game, while Western Carolina handled the College of Charleston, 12-4, to complete the day's games.
