DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Charlotte Eagles and North Carolina will both visit Alumni Stadium as part of a seven-match 2010 spring schedule. The Wildcats will also visit UNC Charlotte on Apr. 14.
“Hosting 2008 NCAA finalist and 2009 semifinalist North Carolina, and visiting cross-town foe UNC Charlotte will be a lot of fun,” said Spear. “We always look forward to hosting the Charlotte Eagles, as facing experienced, professional players makes us better.”
The first home match will take place Mar. 14 at 2 p.m. when the ‘Cats host Sports-ed, a showcase team from England. The Charlotte Eagles, of the United Soccer League Second Division, will then challenge the ‘Cats Mar. 23 at 7 p.m.
Davidson will return to the road for a doubleheader on Mar. 27 at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. The Wildcats will take on Winthrop at 10:45 a.m. and Kentucky at 6 p.m.
The schedule will conclude in April when the ‘Cats host the Tar Heels Apr. 11 at 6 p.m. and then make the short trip to Charlotte on Apr. 14 at 7 p.m.
“We are always very excited about our spring exhibition matches as they offer more opportunities to improve, perform and compete,” said Spear. “I am a big believer that ‘the game is the best teacher.’"
