Jake Cohen Named All-State

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson men's basketball freshman Jake Cohen has been named All-State by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA), the organization announced today.
Cohen was selected the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year by the league's media association after starting 24 of Davidson's 31 games while averaging a team-high 13.3 points to go along with 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots an outing.
The 6-foot-10 forward ranked 11th overall in the SoCon in scoring, 13th in rebounding, 11th in field goal percentage (.466) and seventh in blocked shots. Among SoCon freshman, Cohen ranked first in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage and second in blocked shots.
He scored in double figures 24 times and led the team in scoring in 13 contests. Cohen led the team in rebounding in nine games.
Davidson finished the season 16-15 overall and 11-7 in league play. The Wildcats return three starters, eight lettermen and four of their top six scorers from the 2009-10 team.
