Thanks to generous donor support, several athletic enhancement projects are currently underway.
The Davidson Athletic Foundation raised a record $1.7 million dollars during fiscal year 2011 thanks to the generous support of Davidson donors, alumni, parents and friends. The DAF's primary function is to raise money for scholarship and operating support and for Davidson 21 NCAA Division I programs.
Below is a list of projects that have been recently completed or are in the process of being completed thanks to donor support.

- Hot and cold hydrotherapy tubs in the Training Room
- Ice Machine in the Training Room
- Improvements to the entrance of the football locker room at Richardson Stadium
- Two sets of modern-style game pants for the football team
- State-of-the-art Daktronics Swimming Scoreboard and message board at Cannon Pool
- Brand new 160'x160' tarp will keep the field protected and playable in the event of inclement weather.
- New official's stands, team sweats, and travel bags for volleyball
- Serving ball machine, match analysis software, and three video cameras for the men's and women's tennis program
- A flat screen TV and an iPad for video review, three Airdyne bikes, and new team singlets for wrestling
- A video camcorder, two bounce backs, and team raingear for lacrosse
- Funds to support a fall trip to Ireland for the golf team
- Rain suits and various pieces of track equipment for men's cross country and track
- Travel bags, two iPads for video review, and jackets for women's cross country and track
- Two sets of uniforms, rain jackets, and goalie equipment for field hockey
- Permanent shelters for our team benches for men's and women's soccer
- iPads for recruiting and video review for the women's basketball coaching staff
- iPads for recruiting for the men's basketball staff
- New Media Room which will allow athletics to stream high definition video for men's and women's basketball, wrestling, and volleyball. The room will accommodate instant replay for officials, enhance video recording for men's and women's basketball, and ultimately will allow Davidson to add commercials and graphics to the streamed events as well.
- Streaming video capabilities for our baseball program at Wilson Field with a two-camera production.
The new gift designation policy, which allows alumni to direct their annual athletic gifts to the Division I team of their choice, proved very successful. The commitment of our donors to the general DAF fund will allow the team-designated gifts to be additive to our coaches' budgets. Coaches are currently working through wish lists for use of those additional dollars.
