DAVIDSON, N.C. — After winning their first SoCon road series against The Citadel since 1996, the Davidson Wildcats will begin a five-game home stand with a 6 p.m. game against N.C. A&T Tuesday at Wilson Field.

Davidson (9-10, 4-4 SoCon) hosts Western Carolina (8-10, 0-6 SoCon) in a three-game SoCon set this weekend. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m., and Saturday's game will be played at 2 p.m. The series finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.

About the Series
Davidson leads the all-time series against N.C. A&T, 15-2. The Wildcats last faced the Aggies in 2009, when Davidson defeated N.C. A&T, 7-0, at Wilson Field. Chase FitzPatrick went 3-for-3 and hit his 10th home run of the season to help Davidson snap a six-game losing streak.

About the Aggies
N.C. A&T (6-13, 0-1 MEAC) brings a seven-game losing streak to Wilson Field, which started with a 12-0 loss to the University of Pittsburgh on March 8. A&T won its season-opener against Campbell, 14-9, but dropped the next three against the Camels and a midweek game at USC Upstate before sweeping the New Jersey Institute of Tech in a three-game weekend set. N.C. A&T beat Villanova, 12-6, in Cary, N.C., and lost to Appalachian State, 4-14 in Greensboro. A&T also dropped series to Savannah State, Pittsburgh and High Point, and most recently, lost a pair of midweek games to Gardner-Webb (3-7) and Princeton (2-4).

Xavier Macklin is batting .299 with five home runs and 19 RBI to lead the Aggies in both categories. Luke Tendler is batting .384 with a team-high 28 hits to go along with 17 RBI, and Carvell Copeland leads the team with a .386 average. Craig Erskine (0-0, 13.17) is scheduled to start for the Aggies, and Tyler Boone leads N.C. A&T out of the bullpen with a 0-1 record and 2.89 ERA in eight appearances.

About the Wildcats
After a series victory against The Citadel in Charleston this week, the Wildcats are sitting in seventh place in the SoCon, in a bit of a logjam as one of four teams with four league wins. Davidson is sixth best in the league with a 4.07 team ERA, but despite strong play this weekend in both areas this weekend, continues to trail the SoCon in team average (.241) and fielding percentage (.944).

Individually, freshman Forrest Brandt continues to hover around the top of the league in average, ranking fourth with a .415 clip. Junior Drew Gadaire is batting .397 to move into seventh. After picking up a pair of wins and allowing just one unearned run over 10.1 IP in three appearances this weekend, senior Mike Frongello is now the league leader with a 0.64 ERA, one of just two players in the SoCon to have an ERA under 1.00. Junior Chris Lamb is ranked third in the league with 39 strikeouts.
