About the Series
UNCG leads the all-time series against Davidson, 32-22, dating back to March 19, 1991. The Wildcats and Spartans played a unique series last season, with Davidson traveling to Greensboro for three separate midweek games, all Spartan victories. In 2009, the Wildcats swept the Spartans in Davidson, the team's most recent SoCon sweep and first since Appalachian State in 2005.

About the Wildcats
Pitching continues to be a strength for the Wildcats, who have a staff ERA of 4.14, fourth best in the league. League appearance leader with 19, senior RHP Mike Frongello is second in the SoCon with a 1.69 ERA and also ranks among league leaders in opposing batting average (seventh, .237), innings pitched (sixth, 42.2), games finished (third, 11) and saves (10th, 3). Lamb is 14th with an ERA of 3.13 and has the second-most strikeouts (54) and third-most innings pitched (46.0) of all league pitchers.

Junior first baseman Drew Gadaire has the third-best batting average (.415) and is also ranked in slugging (fourth, .628), on-base percentage (eighth, .467), hits (ninth, 39) and total bases (13th, 59). Freshman left fielder Forrest Brandt continues to lead the league with 12 doubles and has the seventh-best average (.371), in addition to being among league leaders in slugging (14th, .514), on-base percentage (12th, .446) and hits (ninth, 39). Senior designated hitter Danny Weiss has the sixth-best on-base percentage (.475).

About the Spartans
UNCG is fifth in the league standings, with a 8-4 league record identical to Samford. The Spartans have the ninth-best team batting average (.257) and are tied for fifth with Wofford with a team ERA of 4.28. The Spartans have the best fielding percentage in the league (.973).

The Spartans have no players ranked in the top 15 in the league in batting average or on-base percentage, and Trevor Edwards is the only UNCG player in the league rankings for slugging percentage, ranking 13th with a .532 clip. Edwards has been hit 10 times, second most in the SoCon, and teammate Chris Barker is fourth (8) in the category. Eric Brindle leads the league with eight sac bunts.

Despite a staff ERA in the upper half of the league standings, the Spartans have no individual pitchers ranked in the top 15 in ERA or innings pitched. Jonathan Jones ranks third in opposing batting average (.200), and Jarett Miller is 13th in the league with 34 strikeouts. Tyler Hollstegge is tied with senior RHP Andy Bass for 10th with three saves, and Zach Furl and Greg Smith are tied for fourth in appearances with 16. Colby Hyatt leads the league in walks allowed with three, just ahead of Horkley (5).

Next Up
