DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson Wildcats will host the Presbyterian Blue Hose in the final home game of the 2011 baseball season, tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Wilson Field.
Davidson (18-25, 8-18 SoCon) will play its only game this week against Presbyterian (18-26, 4-14 Big South) before taking the weekend off for finals. The two teams met earlier this season, with the Blue Hose taking a 6-1 win over the Wildcats on Feb. 22 in Clinton, S.C.
Pitching Match-Ups
Freshman RHP Danny Mooney (2-2, 6.29) will start for Davidson against Presbyterian's freshman RHP Bud Jeter (4-5, 5.90). Mooney started against the Blue Hose in the teams' first meeting, taking the loss by allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and striking out four in five innings.

Senior RHP Mike Frongello tied his own single-season school record with his league-leading 34th appearance in Elon on Sunday and moved into second in all-time SoCon history with his 131st career appearance. Frongello, who has the third best ERA (2.47) and ranks 15th with 62.0 innings, is chasing The Citadel's Raymond Copenhaver's all-time record of 135, with five regular-season games remaining.
Presbyterian Notes
Freshman catcher/first baseman Brad Zebedis leads the Big South in batting average (.413), slugging percentage (.701), total hits (69), total bases (117) and home runs (10), and also ranks among league leaders in on-base percentage (third, .471), RBI (third, 43), and doubles (second, 18). Sophomore shortstop Andrew Williams has the seventh-most hits (62) and the second-most triples (four).
The Blue Hose do not have a pitcher ranked in the top 10 in the league in ERA, strikeouts, wins or opposing batting average but have a pair of pitchers in the top 10 in innings pitched — Jordan Pace (second, 76.2) and Buck Mosteller (fourth, 71.1). Out of the bullpen, the Blue Hose lean on Chandler Knox, who has the fifth-most appearances in the league (22) with the fifth-most saves (4). Jeter's five losses are tied for the fifth most in the Big South.
Presbyterian is last in the Big South standings behind High Point (7-11) and UNC Asheville (7-11). The Blue Hose have the third-best team batting average in the league (.294) and are sixth with a team ERA of 5.05. They took two of three from High Point and won lone games against VMI and Radford in Big South three-game series. They have been swept by Coastal Carolina, Liberty and Gardner-Webb in their three most recent conference weekends.
