DAVIDSON, N.C. – For the second week in a row, the Davidson women's lacrosse team had at least one player garner National Lacrosse Player of the Week as Abigail Doelger (West Hartford, Conn.) was named the Defender of the Week, while Emily Rademacher (Lynchburg, Va.) was the NLC Newcomer of the Week as announced today.
The duo joins Jessica Melby (Pittsburgh, Pa.), who was named the NLC Defender of the Week, Feb. 22.
Doelger led the Davidson defense against Navy last Saturday with three groundballs, three caused turnovers and a draw control. The three groundballs tied her single-game career-high, while she set a new personal-best in caused turnovers.
A midfielder, Rademacher had a solid home debut. The freshman netted her first collegiate goal in the first half vs. Navy on her only shot of the game. She later then added an assist in the second half for her first two-point game.
Davidson (0-2) seeks its first win of the 2012 campaign when it continues its six-game homestand with a 6 p.m. contest against UC Davis on Thursday, March 1.
