After she opened the season with defeats to nationally ranked N.C. State and Winthrop, Moniz-Soares got on a roll winning 10 of her next 11 matches. All but one came at the No. 2 spot and during the stretch, she had a team-best seven-match win streak.
The all-second team member closed out the regular season in winning style, earning victories in four of her final five matches as all four wins came against league foes Western Carolina, Samford, Chattanooga and Wofford.
In addition to her strong singles play, Moniz-Soares was a key player in the doubles matches for Davidson. She finished with an 8-9 record, including 6-5 when teaming up with senior Katharine Dicconson (Pacific, Grove, Calif.).
