DAVIDSON, N.C.  — Davidson blew a 14-point second half lead and then saw North Carolina A&T score the first 10 points of overtime in sending the Wildcats to 62-57 defeat at home Tuesday night in women's basketball at John M. Belk Arena.

Trailing 44-30, N.C. A&T went on a game-changing 20-4 streak and took its first lead, 50-48, on a Christina Carter trey with 2:22 remaining. Less than a minute later, Dakota Dukes sent the game into overtime with a game-tying layup.

But, the Aggies (3-4) carried their momentum into the extra session by scoring 10 unanswered to open the new period and put the game out of reach.

Pacing the Aggies was Eboni Ross with 17 points, going 13-for-20 at the free-throw line. She also pulled in 16 rebounds and helped A&T keep numerous offensive possessions alive, pulling is six of the Aggies' 22 offensive rebounds.

Three other Aggies scored at least eight points, with Debbie Smith getting nine to go with five assists and four rebounds.

The 'Cats held North Carolina A&T to 26.8 percent shooting, but hit only 37.9 percent of their own shots, including going just 10-for-32 combined in the second half and overtime.

The first half saw Davidson race out to a 7-0 advantage and later extend its first-half lead to 14, before going to the break up, 30-18.

After the Aggies opened the second half on an 8-1 spurt and cut the deficit to 31-26, Davidson responded with a 13-4 run to match its largest lead of the contest with 10:20 left. Diona Johnson (nine points) capped if off with a trey.
