Logan Grabs Big South Lax Defensive Player of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior tri-captain Paige Logan earned her first career weekly award as she was named the Choice Hotels Big South Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of Week for games played from March 17-24, as announced by the league office today.
Logan joins freshman Katherine Rueger as the second Wildcat to earn a weekly league honor this year. Rueger was tabbed the rookie of the week, March 10.
The senior defender helped the Wildcats to a 15-8 home win vs. Elon this past Saturday, March 22, with a big defensive day. Logan registered a game and season-high tying five groundballs, picked up a season-best four draw controls and caused a pair of turnovers.
Logan registered all five groundballs and three of her draw controls in the first half when Davidson built a 9-3 halftime advantage. She helped the Wildcats haul in 18 groundballs and 14 draw controls, while for the second game in a row forcing a team season-high tying 10 caused turnovers.
Logan has started all seven games this year, while registering team highs of 19 groundballs and seven caused turnovers. Her eight draw controls are third-most on the season.
The Wildcats (2-5) will play their lone road game in a five-game stretch next at Saint Francis, March 29. It will be their second-to-last non-conference opponent of the season, before starting Big South play, April 4, vs. Winthrop.
