DAVIDSON, N.C.  â€” After leading Davidson to a perfect week, the duo of Emma Sissman and Katherine Rueger were honored by the Big South with the Choice Hotels Offensive Player of the Week and the Crons Brand Freshman of the Week in women's lacrosse for games played from April 7-13, as announced by the league today.

It is the fourth and fifth weekly awards collected by Davidson this year, with Rueger winning her second rookie of the week honor.

The pair played a big part last week in helping the Wildcats go 3-0 in pushing their overall win streak to seven straight as well as their Big South streak to 11 in a row. They combined for 19 goals, an assist, six groundballs, 11 draw controls and one caused turnover in wins at Campbell (14-7), home vs. Coastal Carolina (10-9) and at Presbyterian (22-3).

Sissman paced the offense with a team-best 13 goals and scored the game-winner in all three games, while also contributing four groundballs and 10 draw controls. The sophomore started the week off with a hat trick at Campbell. She followed that up with a pair of goals, including the game-winner with under five minutes left in the win vs. Coastal Carolina Friday evening.

Capping the week off, Sissman tallied a career-high eight goals on nine shots in the 'Cats' road win at Presbyterian. Five of the goals came during a game-ending 17-0 run to turn a 5-3 lead into a 22-3 victory.

For the season, Sissman has a career and team-high 37 goals to go with a team-best 53 draw controls, which ranks second in the Big South.

The freshman Rueger put in six goals and had seven points on nine shots during Davidson's perfect week. She also added two groundballs and a draw control. Rueger's week started off with a couple of goals at Campbell. The first-year player then threw in one vs. Coastal Friday, before finishing off the successful week with a four-point game at Presbyterian on a hat trick and an assist.

Rueger leads all Wildcat freshmen with 14 goals and five assists for 19 points in 12 games.

After their busy week last week, the Wildcats carry their school-record tying seven-game win streak into a Saturday Senior Day contest against Liberty at 3 p.m.
