DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Wildcats are excited to be joining the Atlantic 10 Conference officially July 1. To countdown to the historic day, DavidsonWildcats.com is featuring quick facts on all 13 A-10 full members, as well as both associate members in field hockey. To start, facts on the A-10 are below. A schedule of the member features follows.
Atlantic 10
Location: Newport News, Va.
Founded: 1976 (as Eastern Collegiate Basketball League)
Full members (14): Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, George Washington, La Salle, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis, VCU
Associate members in field hockey (2): Lock Haven, Saint Francis
Former members (10): Butler (2012-13), UNC Charlotte (2005-13), Penn State (1976-82, 1979-91), Pittsburgh (1976, 1982), Rutgers (1976-95), Temple (1982-13), Villanova (1976-80), Virginia Tech (1995-2000), West Virginia (1976-95), Xavier (1995-2013)
