
'Cats Conclude Competition at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. - The Davidson track and field program concluded competition at the Duke Invitational with four top-five finishes.
In the 5,000, Will Brewster clocked a 14:19.35 to take second place. Ryan Phillips crossed the line in 14:43.11 to take ninth overall. Daniel Samet (14:47.60) and Walker Mogen (14:54.29) to take 12th and 13th, respectively.
The 4x100 relay squad took eighth overall. The quartet of Hostetler, Jerry Chang, Cole Reynolds and Xzavier Killings finished with a time of 42.90.
On the women's side, Caroline Yarbrough and Sarah Paddon registered top-five finishes.
Yarbrough raced to a fourth-place finish in the 5,000. The rookie clocked a 17:02.73. Sarah Paddon posted a top-five finish in the 1,500. The senior stopped the clock at 4:35.56 to take fifth overall.
In the 5,000, Allison Cheeseman crossed the line in 17:39.84. The sophomore took eighth. Caroline Turner took 14th with a time of 18:23.01.
Senior Olivia Menden wasn't far behind Paddon in the 1,500, covering the distance in 4:41.98 to rank 10th overall.
Megan Comstock cleared 10'5.25" in the pole vault to take seventh. Daisy Borders registered a throw of 110'11" in the discus.
Davidson returns to action May 7-8 for the 2016 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by George Mason.

Hostetler earned a 12th-place finish in the 200. Against a competitive field, the sophomore clocked a time of 21.83.
