CULLOWHEE, N.C. — Andrea Robinson scored a career-high 16 points and Sarah Donovan sparked a fourth-quarter comeback as Davidson opened its 2017-18 season with 70-57 road win at Western Carolina Friday evening inside the Ramsey Center in women's basketball action.

Donovan scored all eight of her points in the fourth quarter, tallying a pair of three-point plays in the first two and a half minutes to turn a 47-44 deficit into a 54-49 lead that Davidson would never give back.

Robinson, who hauled in a team-high eight rebounds, caught fire in the fourth quarter, scoring nine of the 'Cats' final 12 points in the last 4:30 to seal the win. The sophomore went 4-of-10 from the floor and a career-best 8-for-9 from the charity stripe.

Davidson, which hit 21-of-29 free throws, ended up outscoring the Catamounts 26-10 in the final quarter to secure its 10th straight win against WCU in the series.

Junior Justine Lyon led all scorers with 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including draining three of Davidson's seven treys. She chipped in five rebounds and three assists.

Western Carolina was paced by Tembre Moates' 10 points, while three other players scored eight each. The Catamounts led by 10 points at one point before Davidson started to chip away late in the third quarter.

Davidson fell behind to start the game 8-0, but regrouped by using a 12-0 run that spanned at the end of the first quarter and picked back up at the start of the second quarter to grab a 22-17 lead. Katie Turner scored a quick five points to open the second quarter to give the 'Cats their first lead.

The lead would last until Western tied things up at 27-all with 2:10 left and eventually took a 31-29 halftime lead in the locker room.

Davidson travels to Raleigh Sunday to take on ACC-foe N.C. State at 2 p.m.
