Brenda Tracy brought her powerful message to Davidson student-athletes, leaving a lasting impression and the core belief that sexual assault is not welcome, not on my campus.
A sexual assault victim, Tracy, now an anti-rape activist, tours campuses across the country sharing her story with the hope that what happened to her is prevented.
Tracy first shared her message with the Davidson football team Sunday night, before opening up to the entire student-athlete body Monday night at Belk Arena.
"Brenda Tracy was an invaluable educational resource. Her message provided motivation for our student-athletes. We strive to consistently help our student-athletes understand how to use their platform to become change agents," said head football coach Paul Nichols. "Overall, the presentation was excellent and allowed our program to discuss real life issues."
Tracy's testimony sparked an immediate impact across social media as her hashtag, #NotOnMyCampus, spread across twitter with thank you messages from many of the Wildcats in attendance. Student-athletes took to the best platform they know to provide a backing of Tracy's story and shine light on her main message, not on my campus.
