THANK YOU to all of the Davidson fans and community members!
- Over 500 pairs of new basketball shoes were collected at the BracketBuster game on 2/21
- About $10,000 has been raised to cover the shipping costs.
- Samaritan's Feet donated 10,000 pairs of shoes to send with Davidson's shoe drive to Nigeria. - Samaritan's Feet (whose founder is also from Nigeria) will be handling the logistics of the distribution and travel of the shoes, etc to Nigeria.
- 10,500 pairs of shoes were prepared for shipment to Nigeria on 2/25 and 2/26 by over 300 volunteers from the Davidson Community. Shoes were processed on the stage at the Duke Family Performance Hall in record time.
- The entire Davidson Football team helped out and were able to load all of the boxes into the truck and clean up the stage in about 10 minutes!
- The Davidson Bookstore donated over 600 hats and t-shirts as well, and everything is on it's way to Nigeria now!
"Kicks From 'Cats - the Andrew Lovedale Shoe Drive" was a shoe drive geared towards collecting new basketball shoes for Andrew to take this coming summer to his hometown of Benin City, Nigeria. Kicks from 'Cats partnered with Samaritan's Feet to collect and distribute the 10,500 of pairs of shoes in Nigeria.
