DAVIDSON, N.C. - A Night with the 'Cats, Davidson's tipoff to the men and women's basketball 2009-10 seasons, will be Friday, Oct. 16, at Belk Arena.
Admission is free, and doors open at 7:30 p.m. A Night with the 'Cats (previously featured on ESPN) is an annual event that introduces the men's and women's basketball teams to Davidson fans through skits, dancing, scrimmages and 3-point contests. Fans can join coaches Bob McKillop and Annette Watts in ushering in the new season with a night of basketball and fun.
Each class will entertain the crowd with a dance that matches this year's theme, “Davidson's Best Dance Crew.” New this year, fans will have a chance to participate in the dancing and basketball, including a Bob McKillop Look Alike Contest.
Following the skit portion of the evening, each team will have a 3-point contest and a short scrimmage. The night culminates with both teams participating in an autograph session on the court.
The Wildcat women have a home exhibition game against Wingate Nov. 8, and open the regular season at Nebraska Nov. 13. The men's team hosts Lenoir-Rhyne in an exhibition Nov. 7, and opens its season at Butler Nov. 14.
